Get a place in an ARPEJ residence

Maximize your chances!

The search for student or young professional accommodation can be competitive, especially in areas of high demand. Last year, we welcomed 5,560 new tenants, representing only 11% of the applications we received. At ARPEJ, we understand these challenges and want to help you efficiently navigate the process of securing a place in our residences. Here are a few practical tips to increase your chances of obtaining the accommodation you want:

1. Understand our selection criteria

At ARPEJ, our selection criteria are designed to ensure a fair and efficient allocation of available housing:

  • We give priority to young people aged 18-25, favoring diversity.
  • We give priority to applicants with scholarships when allocating places.
  • We take care to offer opportunities to students from all regions.
  • Apprentices can apply for student residences as well as those for young professionals.
  • Some of our residences are “reserved residences”. This means that they are exclusively available to members of our partner organizations, such as local authorities, town halls, higher education establishments, etc.

2. Submitting a complete and up-to-date file

Your application must include all required information and be up-to-date:

  • Identity documents and proof of status.
  • Proof of income or scholarship.

❗A file will only be viewed and processed by the manager if it is complete and all supporting documents are included.

3. Timing of application

  • Apply early: Applications are often processed on a first-come, first-served basis. Applying early can be crucial.
  • Responsiveness: Respond promptly to any requests for documentation or additional information.

❗If you still have no response after 3 months, you’ll need to reconstitute your file.

4. Additional strategies

  • Flexibility: Being flexible in terms of location and type of accommodation can greatly increase your chances.

By following these tips, you’ll increase your chances of obtaining housing that meets your needs.
